I started modelling from the age of five years old. Very soon I was entered into all sorts of beauty pageants, the result was that I ended up growing up very much in the newspapers for all to see.
I very quickly learnt that regardless of what is going on in life the show must go on. I learnt quickly to paste a very plastic smile on my face, one I learnt to wear for many, many years.

Modelling competitions and beauty pageants continued well into my teens and early adult years again all covered in the newspapers. The only difference now was by this stage there had been even more abuse…Sexual, physical and emotional. By this stage I was also silently battling bulimia and anorexia…Like so many models do. I also started suffering from rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 23…I remained in the modelling world until I was in my 30s. By this stage I had built a big successful business with branches across the country.

In 2004, after clearly hearing from the Lord, it was time to let go of the modelling world…I did! This was possibly one of my most difficult acts of obedience. Finally free of what I found to be, a very big false empire that I had built for myself. Free of the papers and the money… I suffered a heart wrenching divorce, like most divorce is… But looking back this was the start of finding me without the spotlight.
